Grace Cunard
Early serial queen of silent films, who made her debut in 1908. Teaming with her husband actor Francis Ford, Cunard starred in such hit action serials as "Lucille Love, Girl of Mystery" (1914), "The Broken Coin" (1915), "Adventures of Peg o' the Ring" (1916) and "The Purple Mask" (1917). She also supplied the screenplays for many of her serials, which Ford directed. Her popularity continued through the 1920s in features such as "The Girl in the Taxi" (1921), "Outwitted" (1925) and "The Masked Angel" (1928). After sound arrived, however, Cunard was reduced to bit parts in such films as "Untamed" (1929), "Ladies They Talk About" (1933) and "The Bride of Frankenstein" (1935).
