Growing up in Memphis, TN, Hailey Giles was quickly smitten with theater and film. Her mother worked as a production and location manager on local shoots, so the younger Giles was exposed to and experienced at working behind the camera before spending any time in front of it. She worked as the assistant to her mother in the locations department Craig Brewer's film "Hustle & Flow" (2005), as well as the art department coordinator on the first season of "$5 Cover" (MTV.com, 2009-2010), which Brewer also directed. After high school, Giles attended Emerson College, graduated in three years and moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. Her first significant screen time came close to her hometown, when she was one of the central players in "One Came Home" (2010), about a soldier returning from WWII to console the family of a fallen comrade in arms. The film was set and filmed in Mississippi and Tennessee. Not one to wait for opportunities to present themselves, Giles and a few friends created and starred in a web series called "2040" (YouTube, 2014) about a group of filmmakers and their kickstarter campaign to get a movie made. In 2015, she appeared as a series regular on a show she didn't create, "Donnie!" (TNT, 2015-). On the show, she played the assistant to the title character, Donnie Deutsch, who plays a fictionalized version of himself.
