Jadyn Wong
Canadian actress Jadyn Wong enjoyed bit and supporting roles on television and in films made in her native country before heading south to co-star in the action-drama series "Scorpion" (CBS 2014- ). Born and raised in Medicine Hat, a city in the Canadian province of Alberta, Wong was the daughter of Hong Kong immigrants who operated a restaurant. She developed an interest in acting while studying business at the University of Calgary, and actually landed a role in a stage production; though she was disqualified from taking the part for not being a theater major, the play's director encouraged her to make acting her primary interest. Soon thereafter, she went on her first professional audition, and was cast as a Chinese immigrant in the miniseries "Broken Trail" (AMC, 2006), a Western starring and produced by Robert Duvall that was filmed in Alberta. Minor roles in Canadian-lensed series and films like "Rookie Blue" (ABC, 2010-15) led to a recurring turn as an office worker with psychic abilities on the CBC's science fiction/comedy-drama "Being Erica" (2009-11). From there, Wong divided her time between supporting roles in television projects like "Lost Girl" (Syfy, 2010-15) and brief turns in features like David Cronenberg's "Cosmopolis" (2012) and the science fiction thriller "Debug" (2014). That same year, Wong made her debut as a regular in a U.S.-lensed series with "Scorpion" as a brilliant mechanical engineer who joins a team of super-geniuses recruited by the government to thwart international high-tech threats.
