James Parks
Born in Ventura, California, in 1968, James Parks inherited acting as a legacy from his father. Michael Parks was a working actor, beginning in the early sixties with guest appearances on television shows and supporting roles in features, almost all of which had stories revolving around crime and criminals. In 1969 he played the title role in the drama "Then Came Bronson" (NBC, 1969-1970). The younger Parks had a career similar to his father's, one that included mainly supporting roles in crime dramas. His first on screen appearance came in the Gerald McRaney movie "Blind Vengeance" (1990). In 1999, Parks made his debut as Texas Ranger Edgar McGraw in "From Dusk Til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money." Edgar McGraw was the son of Texas Ranger Earl McGraw, played by Michael Parks in the series first installment "From Dusk Til Dawn" (1996) written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Robert Rodriguez. The relationship between the Parks' and Tarantino and Rodriguez would be one of the most fruitful for both actors. The two played the father and son Texas Ranger team, the McGraws, in Tarantino's "Kill Bill, Vol 1" (2003) and "Kill Bill, Vol 2" (2004), as well as in the Tarantino/Rodriguez collaboration "Grindhouse" (2007). James played Edgar McGraw (without his father) in Rodriguez's film "Machete" (2010). Both also appeared in Tarantino's "Django Unchained" (2012), but not as the McGraws. In 2015, James Parks, again without his father, appeared in a key role in Tarantino's "The Hateful Eight."
