Jason Ralph

Actor Jason Ralph impressed with recurring roles in "Aquarius" (NBC, 2015-16), "Madam Secretary" (CBS, 2014-) and Manhattan (WGN America, 2014-15) before bagging the leading part of Quentin Coldwater in fantasy "The Magicians" (Syfy, 2015-). Born in McKinsey, TX in 1986, Ralph studied Theater at his hometown's Collin College and SUNY Purchase, NY and went onto make his on-screen debut as a student in "The Good Wife" (CBS, 2009-). After a two-episode stint as Sam on prime-time soap "Gossip Girl" (The CW, 2007-2012), Ralph played Gary in romantic drama "Brightest Star" (2013), guested on police procedural "Blue Bloods" (CBS, 2010-) and low-key LGBT drama "Looking" (HBO, 2014-15), and appeared as one of four collegiate comedians whose graduation party is gatecrashed by a movie star in comedy "I'm Obsessed with You" (2014). A minor role in gritty crime drama "A Most Violent Year" (2014) then followed, as did a one-off appearance as retirement home caretaker William in sitcom "Grace and Frankie" (Netflix, 2015-) and the part of alcoholic depressive Sebastian in love triangle drama "Those People" (2015). Ralph then enjoyed spells in several prestige series, playing fictional snitch Mike Vickery in the Charles Manson-based crime thriller "Aquarius" (NBC, 2015-16), the President's drug-addicted son Harrison in political hit "Madam Secretary" (CBS, 2014-) and patent lawyer Stan in underrated period drama "Manhattan" (WGN America, 2014-15). Ralph bagged the biggest role of his career when he was cast as Quentin Coldwater, the trainee magician who discovers the fantasy world from his favorite childhood books is all too real, in the adaptation of Lev Grossman's novel, "The Magicians" (Syfy, 2015-).
