Born in Indiana, Jeffrey Bell earned his Master of Arts from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, where he wrote and directed a short thesis film that he later adapted into the major motion picture "Radio Inside," a dreamy psychodrama starring Elisabeth Shue and William McNamara. Bell's fascination with the strange, unknowable dynamics that exist within and beyond the human mind (coupled with his talent) landed him a writing position on the mystery-shrouded yet immensely popular sci-fi series "The X-Files" during its sixth season. After quickly expanding his role to executive story editor, Bell jumped on board with Joss Whedon's vampire saga "Angel," where his prior experience with the otherworldly garnered him an immediate position as an executive producer in addition to his head writing duties. His ensuing script and production work on Whedon associate J.J. Abrams' kinetic espionage drama "Alias" was followed by short-lived tenures on the the slasher series "Harper's Island" and the sci-fi time-loop thriller "Day Break" (on which the writer-producer reunited with Clayton Rohner, the star of his debut "The X-Files" episode). In 2009, Bell kicked off a special deal with Warner Bros. Television that allowed him to executive produce "V," a series relaunch of a classic alien-invasion TV event. The small-screen guru has stepped outside of genre programming with such projects as the dramatic series "Exit 19."
