Jennifer Flackett
Jennifer Flackett, like so many Hollywood screenwriters before her, came to filmmaking by way of television, turning in scripts for such primetime powerhouses as "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "L.A. Law." Flackett, a former actress who has appeared in bit parts on both TV and film, built her reputation in the 1990s with smartly written screenplays for TV dramas. She soon partnered with her husband, director and fellow screenwriter Mark Levin, on the award-winning 1998 family comedy "Madeline," a film based on the series of classic and wildly popular children's books. After a solo jaunt as a writer on the 2004 romantic comedy "Wimbledon," Flackett re-partnered with Levin for the heartwarming romance "Little Manhattan" (2005), and continued their collaboration on the Abigail Breslin-starred family adventure "Nim's Island" (2008). Flackett continued her successful run in family-oriented fare with a screenplay for the 2008 summer blockbuster "Journey to the Center of the Earth."
