Johanna Gastdorf

Johanna Gastdorf is an award-winning German actress who has appeared in a number of films and television programs. Born in Hamburg, she began acting at a young age. In 1978, she enrolled at Hanover's prestigious School of Music and Theater, where she completed the four-year program. Upon graduation, Gastdorf was immediately recruited by the Staatstheater Hannover, where she spent several years. She traveled through Germany, taking roles at some of the country's most famous theaters. 1994 saw her screen debut in "Heirate mich," and she soon began working heavily in TV, with occasional movie roles in between. In 2004, she won the Bavarian Film Award for her part in the soccer-themed dramedy "The Miracle Of Bern." Some of her most famous films include the social drama "Die Welle," based on the infamous "third wave" experiment, the biopic "Sophie Scholl," about the anti-Nazi resistance fighter, and the screwball comedy "Eine Insel namens Udo." She has a tremendous amount of dramatic range that has served her well throughout her career. In 2006, she took home a prestigious Adolf Grimme Award for her performance in the TV series "Polizeiruf 110." She has also featured on several episodes of the long-running crime drama "Tatort." Gatsdorf is married to fellow actor Jan-Gregor Kremp.
