      British by birth, Lia Williams built her entertainment career as an actress in many successful Hollywood movies. Williams's career began by acting in comedies like "Different for Girls" (1997) with Steven MacKintosh and Rupert Graves and "The Fifth Province" (1997) with Brían F. O'Byrne and Lia Williams. She worked in series television while getting her start in acting, including a part on "Midsomer Murders" (ITV 1, 1996). She also appeared in the TV special "Mr. Wroe's Virgins" (SundanceTV, 2000-01). Her work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Shot Through the Heart" (HBO, 1998-99). She also landed a role in the miniseries "Imogen's Face" (1998-99). During these years, she also worked in film, earning a part in the period drama "Firelight" (1998) with Sophie Marceau. Williams took on film roles in more recent years, appearing in "Girl From Rio" (2001) with Hugh Laurie and the Jennifer Jason Leigh dramatic adventure "The King is Alive" (2001). She also had a part in the TV miniseries "By the Pricking of My Thumbs" (2005-06). Most recently, Williams appeared in "Secret State" (2013-14). Williams was nominated for a British Short Film BAFTA Award for "The Stronger" in 2007.
