Lisa Blount
Academy Award winner Lisa Blount was alternately known as the "scream queen" star of numerous horror movies and as Lynette, the manipulative husband-hunting friend of Debra Winger whose feigned pregnancy leads to David Keith's suicide in "An Officer and a Gentleman" (1982). So impactful was her performance in the classic Richard Gere romance that the bubbly blonde was even voted "Favorite Female Newcomer" in a 1983 US magazine readers poll. On the small screen, she was terrific as the abusive stepmother on the acclaimed but short-lived "Profit" (Fox, 1996-97), but Blount would find her ultimate success and satisfaction as a producer alongside her husband, Roy McKinnon, with their 2001 Academy Award-winning short, "The Accountant." Unfortunately, Blount's life was tragically cut short when she died in October 2010 of unknown causes.
