Mamdouh Abd El Aleem
Mamdouh Abdel Alim was born on Nov. 10, 1956 in Menoufia, Egypt. Abdel Alim began acting as a child, appearing in Egyptian television programs and radio productions. In 1980, he graduated with a business degree from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science in Cairo, Egypt, though went on to returning to acting as his primary career. He made his big screen debut in the film "Coffee Mawardi" (1982), for which he won recognition as a breakout artist. After additional big screen roles in films like "The Virgin with White Hair" (1983), Abdel Alim began costarring on the wildly popular soap opera "El Helmeya Nights" (Channel 1 1987-). He appeared periodically on this series throughout his life. Abdel Alim also went on to appear in films including "Supermarket" (1990), "A Girl Called Apple" (1996), and "Foll Al-Foll" (2000). Additionally, he also costarred on the Alexandria Film Festival Award-winning television series "The Maid" (MBC 2011-12). On Jan. 5, 2016, he died suddenly while at a gymnasium in Cairo, Egypt.
