Michael Balfour was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Early on in his acting career, Balfour landed roles in various films, including "The Red Beret" (1953), "Genevieve" (1954) with John Gregson and "The Sea Shall Not Have Them" (1955). He also appeared in the Anthony Steel drama "Albert R.N." (1955), "Gentlemen Marry Brunettes" (1955) with Jane Russell and the Kenneth More drama "Reach For the Sky" (1956). He continued to act in productions like "Carry on Constable" (1961) with Sidney James, the comedy "Kaleidoscope" (1966) with Warren Beatty and "Fahrenheit 451" (1966) with Oskar Werner. He also appeared in the dramatic adaptation "The Fixer" (1968) with Alan Bates. Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The 'Copter Kids" (1976), "Candleshoe" (1977) and the comedic adventure "The Stick Up" (1978) with David Soul. He also appeared in the Peter Sellers comedy adventure "The Prisoner of Zenda" (1979) and the Michael Caine spy picture "The Holcroft Covenant" (1985). Balfour was most recently credited in "Utopia" (Channel 4, 2012-14). Balfour passed away in October 1997 at the age of 79.
