Mike Douglas worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. Douglas' early acting career consisted of parts on a wide variety of programs such as "Kay Kyser's Kollege of Musical Knowledge" (1949-1954). He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for "The Mike Douglas Show" in 1973. In the seventies and the nineties, Douglas devoted his time to various credits, such as "Ringo" (NBC, 1977-78), "The Incredible Shrinking Woman" (1981), "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz: 50 Years of Magic" (CBS, 1989-1990), "In the Life" (PBS, 1991-2001), "The Wizard of Oz: 40 Years on Television" (CBS, 1995-96) and "50 Years of Television: A Celebration of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Golden Anniversary" (HBO, 1996-97). Douglas continued to exercise his talent in the early 2000s, taking on a mix of projects like "It's Only Talk: The Real Story of America's Talk Shows," "Intimate Portrait: Marie Osmond" (Lifetime, 2000-01), "Keep the River on Your Right: A Modern Cannibal Tale" with Tobias Schneebaum (2001), "Mike and Pearl" and "The Thin Red Line" (1998) starring Sean Penn. Douglas last worked on "Thirteen Days" (2000). Mike Douglas passed away in August 2006 at the age of 81.
