Mikhail Gorbachev
Mikhail Gorbachev worked in a variety of genres and built up a diverse and reputable career. A regular on the awards show circuit, he made an appearance on "Fourth Annual Environmental Media Awards" (1994-95). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "A Conversation With Mikhail S. Gorbachev" (1987-88), "Global Forum II -- Moscow: World Stories From a Surviving Planet" (1989-1990) and "The New Russian Revolution: Will the Soviet Union Stay in the Red?" (1990-91). He also appeared in "Conversations With Gorbachev" (1994-95). Gorbachev launched his career by acting in films like the Otto Sander fantasy sequel "Faraway, So Close" (1993). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "The Gulf War" (1995-96), "Mikhail Gorbachev Talking With David Frost" (1995-96) and "A World Transformed: Our Reflections on Ending the Cold War" (1996-97). He also appeared in "The Reagan Legacy" (1996-97). In more recent years, Gorbachev had roles in the Zev Yaroslavsky documentary "Refusenik" (2008), "The Soviet Story" (2008) and the documentary "Countdown to Zero" (2010) with Gary Oldman. He also appeared in "A Bitter Taste of Freedom" (2011). Most recently, Gorbachev appeared in "Gore Vidal: The United States of Amnesia" (2014). Mikhail Gorbachev died on August 30, 2022 in Moscow, Russia at the age of 91.
