Natsuko Ohama

Natsuko Ohama is a Canadian actress highly regarded for her stage work, who has appeared in several small roles for television and feature films. She is also a founding member and acting teacher of Shakespeare and Company and an instructor with Pan Asian Rep in New York. Of her many television roles, she is probably best-known for her part as no-nonsense Captain Amanda Cohen on the cop/vampire show "Forever Knight," which ran from 1989 to 1996. She has also appeared with Gena Rowlands and Annabeth Gish in the 1993 television movie "Silent Cries," set during World War II in a Japanese military camp (where civilian women and children were also held captive); the groundbreaking production of "Hot Summer Winds" for the Public Broadcasting series "American Playhouse," which focused on the lives of Asian American women beyond the stereotypes of what had been previously offered in contemporary fiction and film; and as one of the passengers in the frenetic action thriller "Speed." Ohama is also one of the preeminent voice teachers in the country.
