Peter Jankowski is an American television producer best known for his work on the "Law & Order" franchise. An alumni of College of the Holy Cross, Jankowski began his career in the early 1990s producing a few narrative shorts, including "How Else Am I Supposed to Know I'm Still Alive?" and "Always Roses." After a 10-year hiatus he returned to producing TV series documentaries, including "Arrest & Trial" and "Crime & Punishment," both of which focused on sensational criminal cases. Fitting then, that he joined the long-running hit series "Law & Order" as an executive producer in 2001. His work on the popular crime drama earned him his first Emmy nomination in 2002, and led to work the spin-offs " Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." Both shows have been huge successes and have led Jankowski, along with his co-producers including series creator Dick Wolf, to produce " Law & Order: Los Angeles" in 2010. Despite his heavy involvement with the "Law & Order" franchise, Jankowski has continued to produce documentary productions including the Doors doc "When You're Strange" and the acclaimed TV series "American Masters," which earned him his second Emmy nod in 2010.
