Born on July 22, 1973, Moses Barrett III, known by the stage name Petey Pablo, is an American rapper from Greenville, North Carolina. After moving to New York City, Pablo met Black Rob and Busta Rhymes. After getting signed to Jive Records, Pablo began working on his debut album. In 2001, his first single, "Raise Up," was released. In 2002, Petey Pablo appeared as himself in the film "Drumline." In early 2003, "Diary of a Sinner: 1st Entry" received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. Pablo started working on his second studio album, "Still Writing in My Diary: 2nd Entry," in 2003. In 2009, Petey Pablo appeared in the film "Just Another Day." After his departure from Jive Records, Petey Pablo founded his own independent label, Carolina Music Group. In 2010, he released a track entitled "Go." In 2015, Pablo played Clyde in an episode of "Empire." In late 2015, Pablo released a new single titled "Never Imagined." On January 17, 2016, after the Carolina Panthers' victory over the Seattle Seahawks in the 2016 NFC Divisional playoffs, Petey Pablo released a new single titled "Carolina Colors."
