Television writer Raelle Tucker is best known for her work on HBO's award-winning vampire drama "True Blood," which has earned her a Writers Guild of America Award nomination. The series was Oscar-winning screenwriter Alan Ball's follow-up to his acclaimed death-centered drama series, "Six Feet Under," so it was a highly anticipated new show. Despite having only a handful of episodes of the fantasy-horror series "Supernatural" and the short-lived crime drama "Eyes" to her credit, Tucker scored writing and producing duties on "True Blood"'s first season. But this overnight success was years in the making. Tucker dreamed of being a writer since her childhood. After high school, she moved to Los Angeles where she worked a survival job as a strip club waitress while tirelessly perfecting her screenplay. After 11 years of this, Tucker changed tactics and applied to HBO's reality competition "Project Greenlight," in which budding screenwriters and filmmakers compete for a movie deal. While Tucker didn't win, she did earn an agent, who got her the writing gig on "Supernatural." As an ardent fan of "Six Feet Under," she doggedly pursued a chance to work with Alan Ball, and read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books on which the in-development "True Blood" was based. Her passion paid off when she finally landed a meeting with Ball, and subsequently was hired for the series.
