Richard Adler brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Adler started his entertainment career with his music in films like the Doris Day adaptation "The Pajama Game" (1957), the adaptation "D*mn Yankees" (1958) with Tab Hunter and the dramatic adaptation "Only When I Laugh" (1981) with Marsha Mason. His music also appeared in "Le Bal" (1984) and the action film "Tough Guys" (1986) with Burt Lancaster. Though known first for his music, Adler also acted in "You're the Top: The Cole Porter Story" (PBS, 1989-1990). In the nineties, Adler's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "Goodfellas" (1990), "Closet Land" (1991) and the Eric Stoltz dramatic adaptation "Keys to Tulsa" (1997). His work was also in the dramatic adaptation "Love! Valour! Compassion!" (1997) with Jason Alexander and "Forces of Nature" (1999). Adler's music was also featured in "The Bachelor" (1999) with Chris O'Donnell, "Snatch" (2000) with Benicio Del Toro and the Bernie Mac romantic comedy "Guess Who" (2005). Adler's music was most recently featured in "Kinky Boots" (2006) with Joel Edgerton. Adler passed away in June 2012 at the age of 91.
