Sheldon Epps is lucky to have not one but two successful directing careers; he's received numerous accolades and Tony Award nominations during his decades-long career as a well-known theater director, and he's helmed episodes of everything from the massively popular sitcom "Friends" to the neurotic "Frasier." Some of Epps' first TV jobs were on prime-time comedy programs like "Sister, Sister," starring Tia and Tamara Mowry as identical twins separated at birth, and the "Odd Couple"-inspired "Stark Raving Mad," about a joke-loving horror writer (Tony Shaloub) and his germaphobe book editor (Neil Patrick Harris). He helmed several episodes of the high-profile sitcom "Friends," including the highly-rated "The One Where Rachel Tells.." and the celebrity-filled "The One with the Soap Opera Party." Between 1998 and 2004, he worked on over two dozen episodes of "Frasier," which followed "Cheers" psychiatrist Frasier Crane's attempts to find love, acceptance, and peace in his drama-filled life. From 2000 to 2005, Epps served as the main director of the cable drama "Girlfriends," about the lives of four African-American women living in Los Angeles; in addition, both he and "Frasier" star Kelsey Grammer served as producers on the highly-rated series. Since being named artistic director of the Pasadena Playhouse, Epps has worked on multiple episodes of the short-lived sitcom "Out of Practice" and the family-oriented sitcom "George Lopez."
