Shondrella Avery
Shondrella Avery was an accomplished actress, noted for her comedic timing in her roles for television shows. In 1999, she made her feature film debut in the cult favorite "Trippin," with Donald Faison and Guy Torry. In 2003, she played John Amos' niece in the feature the "Watermelon Heist." She wrote and performed her own one woman show, "Ain't I Enough?" for HBO where she tells the story of what it is like growing up in her unique and enormous family. Avery's acting career began with roles on several shows, including "The Jamie Foxx Show" (1995-2001), "For Your Love" (WB, 1997-2002) and "Strong Medicine" (Lifetime, 1999-2005). She also appeared in "Girls Behaving Badly" (2002-04). Following that project, she acted on the silver screen, including roles in the comedy "Napoleon Dynamite" (2004) with Jon Heder and the Keira Knightley action picture "Domino" (2005). She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Cuts" (2004-06). Avery focused on film in more recent years, appearing in "Deja Vu" (2006) with Denzel Washington, the dramatic adaptation "The Secret Life of Bees" (2008) with Queen Latifah and the romantic comedy "Our Family Wedding" (2010) with Forest Whitaker. She also worked in television during these years, including a part on "Eleventh Hour" (CBS, 2008-09). Avery most recently acted in the action film "End of Watch" (2012) with Jake Gyllenhaal.
