Soon-Yi Previn
Soon-Yi Previn was born in South Korea. She was found living on the streets in Seoul as a young girl and was placed in an orphanage and given an official birth date of October 8, 1970. In 1978 she was adopted by actor Mia Farrow and her then husband André Previn and immigrated to the United States. A year later, her parents divorced and Farrow started a relationship with Woody Allen that would last until 1992. As a teen, Previn appeared uncredited in Farrow's film "Hannah and Her Sisters" (1986) and Allen's "Scenes from a Mall" (1991). After graduating high school in 1991, she earned a bachelor's degree from Drew University and a master's degree at Columbia University. As an adult, Soon-Yi Previn (who has said that Allen was never in her life as a step-father) began a romantic relationship with Woody Allen. This resulted in his divorce to Farrow and eventual marriage to Previn, 35 years his junior. Although their relationship became fodder for the tabloids, the two have remained together for over 30 years. Previn also appeared in a documentary about Woody Allen, "Wild Man Blues" (1997).
