Stacey Farber

Stacey Farber's role as a troubled high school student on the critically-acclaimed Canadian TV series "Degrassi: The Next Generation" proved a major boost early on in her career. After appearing in a small but pivotal role in the 2002 undercover police thriller "Narc," Farber landed the role of Ellie Nash on "Degrassi," which follows the lives and struggles of a group of students at the fictional Degrassi Community School. The award-winning series is the fourth iteration of the popular TV franchise, which began in 1979 with "The Kids of Degrassi Street"; its storylines often feature such hot-topic issues as abortion, drug use, and depression. Farber portrayed Nash, who suffered from depression and self-harm, until 2009, and she reprised her role in the TV movie "Degrassi Goes Hollywood." She also lent her voice to the animated series "Dark Oracle," about twins who discover a reality-altering comic book, and later appeared in the psychological drama "King of Sorrow." In 2010, she landed the lead role in the prime-time TV series "18 to Life" as Jessie Hill, a young woman who elopes with her estranged next-door-neighbor's son.
