Tim Donnelly
After appearances in Western-themed television series, Tim Donnelly landed supporting roles in "Dragnet," which led to his involvement in a number of shows produced by Jack Webb and his Mark VII production company (where Tim Donnelly's older brother Dennis worked as a stock director). Over the next decade-plus, Donnelly portrayed a number of different characters in "Dragnet" (mostly youths gone astray), and also appeared in Webb's "Adam-12." This was followed by the character that remains Donnelly's most recognizable, Chester B. "Chet" Kelly, the arrogant, prank-pulling, but good-hearted firefighter in the Mark VII show "Emergency!" whom he played from 1972 to 1978. His last work in a series by Webb was two episodes of "Project UFO," which aired in 1978. Throughout the '80s, Donnelly appeared in such series as "B.J. and the Bear," "Vega$," and "The A-Team" before leaving acting. Besides his television acting appearances, he directed a number of "Emergency!" episodes, and starred in several films including "The Clonus Horror" and "The Toolbox Murders." Tim Donnelly died on September 17, 2021 in Santa Fe, NM at the age of 77.
