Trick Daddy
American rapper Maurice Young, better known as Trick Daddy, was born in Miami, Florida. He was one of ten children, and eventually left his mother's apartment complex to move in with his father and brother. That's where his problems with the law started and rap was a way to stay out of the streets after he left prison. He first appeared on one of the tracks of the album "Uncle Luke" (1996) by Luther "Luke" Campbell. The song was a hit, and earned Trick a record deal. His debut album, "Based on a True Story" (1997) became popular locally, and his two subsequent albums would help him rise to fame nationally. Several of his singles would reach good positions in charts during the 1990s, paving the way for his hip-hop group, Dunk Ryders. During the early 2000s, he was featured in the albums of several artists, from DJ Khaled's "Listennn... the Album" (2006) and "We the Best" (2007), to Pitbull's "The Boatlift" (2007). He founded his own label, Dunk Ryder Records, working with many Miami rappers, and continued to tour the country. His first acting role was in the film "Just Another Day" (2010), but he would gain more notoriety on screens for his participation in the reality show "Love & Hip Hop: Miami" (VH1, 2018-).
