Vivian Bang
Vivian Bang was an American actress of South Korean descent who was best known for her TV roles on "Sullivan & Son" (TBS, 2012-14) and "Swedish Dicks" (Pop, 2016- ), as well as her supporting role in the 2019 Netflix film "Always Be My Maybe." Bang was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the United States with her family when she was 7. She lived in San Francisco and Atlanta before finally settling in New York. When it came time to enroll in college, Bang attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where she majored in acting. She nabbed her first film role as a teenager with a small part in "Henry Fool" (1997). After graduating from NYU, Bang's acting career took off. In the early 2000s she nabbed guest spots on TV shows like "House" (Fox, 2005-2012), "Monk" (USA, 2002-09), and "How I Met Your Mother" (CBS, 2005-2014). Then in 2008 she nabbed her first big film role with a part in the Jim Carrey comedy "Yes Man" (2008). More substantial film and TV roles followed. In 2012 Bang joined the cast of the TBS sitcom "Sullivan & Son." She appeared in all 33 episodes of the series over three seasons. However, TBS canceled the series after its third season in November of 2014. Undeterred, Bang continued landing work and in 2016 she joined the cast of the Pop comedy series "Swedish Dicks." In 2018 Bang co-wrote and starred in the comedy-drama film "White Rabbit." That film premiered at Sundance in 2018. In 2019 Bang appeared as a supporting character in the Netflix film "Always Be My Maybe." That film, a romantic comedy starring Randall Park and Ali Wong, debuted on the streaming service in May of 2019.
