Three-time DGA Award winner, Will Mackenzie directed dozens of television series throughout his lengthy career. He began work in show biz as an actor on Broadway where he appeared in a number of musicals and comedies, as well as a number of Shakespearean productions. He made his TV debut in the mid-1960s and worked steadily on shows like the Marlo Thomas comedy "That Girl" and the super chic crime drama "The Mod Squad." This continued throughout the 1970s, and after playing Larry Bondurant on the acclaimed sitcom "The Bob Newhart Show" Mackenzie discovered directing. After directing an episode of Newhart's show he went on to helm several TV movies and sit-coms, which have since been the backbone of his career. Throughout the 1980s he worked on hits like Tom Hanks's "Bosom Buddies" and Nell Carter's "Gimme A Break!," and was nominated for Emmys for his work on the Michael J. Fox sitcom "Family Ties" and romance-infused detective comedy series, "Moonlighting." Mackenzie also directed one feature film, the Mark Harmon comedy "Worth Winning." He directed steadily throughout the 1990s, albeit on lesser-known sit-coms, but in 1997 he landed work on the smash hit "Everybody Loves Raymond," which was based on the stand-up act of the show's star Ray Romano. Mackenzie's work on the long-running sitcom garnered him several more awards and nominations. Since then he has directed a string of comedy series, including the cult hit "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," Damon Wayans's "My Wife and Kids," and acclaimed hospital-set "Scrubs."
