Audience Member Charming animated feature that is very unique. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member In our sensory saturated culture these days, we often forget just how enchanting the simpler productions can be. Princes Et Princesses is an animated French film, composed of 6 episodes, all telling the stories of princes and princesses. The animation is done in silhouette form (I always struggled spelling that word) and is reminiscent of "The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926)." The animation itself, was simple, yet beautifully captivating. When artists begin to clutter the screen with meaningless over the top visuals, it deludes your focus to what is actually happening on it. I thought the stories were charming and creatively depicted. I could see this being one of my favorites as a child. It was a real treat to see this film. http://twitter.com/TheDevoZone Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member A great movie to watch, without feeling tired of watching over and over again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member The animation style is very unique and the way he was able to create six very different stories all based on the set up of a prince and a princess was fantastic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member This has become one of my favorite children's movies. The artwork is so simple and endearing; the narration poetic; classical storyteIling. The stories are in French, with subtitles, but I think even children who can not read or understand French will enjoy the tales. I highly recommend this, especially to those who have not been swept into the fast action Disney animation craze yet. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Michel Ocelot's second feature was, for me, much more fulfilling than his better known debut, Kirikou and the Sorceress. This despite the complete simplicity of the concept, which is a series of stories told in silhouette centered around the love between princes and princesses and the chasms they cross for each other. What's especially compelling is watching the scenes in between, where the three creators come up with ideas for each, incorporating different sorts of artwork for each one. A commentary on Ocelot's own thought process? A highly recommended piece of animation for children of all ages. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
