Aender S Great visuals in this one. You can clearly see Pitof used to work with Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro, the directors of films such as "Delicatessen" and "La cité des enfants perdus". Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/11/24 Full Review L L A seriously underrated and hard to find film, its dark noir texture is so thick you get enveloped by it and drawn deep into the dark world of 1830's Paris, the mystery is so full of turns and dead ends its the only film which has made me audibly exclaim 'what!' when the truth was finally revealed. The trailer doesn't do it justice, this is a murder mystery of the highest calibre. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Audience Member Special movie and great portrait of an historical character! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member If you don't mind the PS2 graphics and the eccentric French tone of the script, Vidocq provides a convoluted crime plot with original ideas and an unforeseen plot twist at the end. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member At first it seemed like a low budget foreign movie but as the story progresses the plot is actually quite interesting. I enjoyed the movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member I'm rating it three stars for various reasons. first of all Vidocq being a French film is going where no other French film had gone before.... using the brand new (at the time) HD cameras for a definition & a quality of the image never seen before , the film is highly entertaining visually & Technically, that's the least we can say.Now the story isn't very new or fantastic but it's once again so well shot , you will forget the actors, the flaws and just be immersed by the visuals. A film that deserves a viewing more for it's technical qualities than anything else. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
