Kamal Al-Solaylee Globe and Mail [Director] Gutierrez sustains a heightened mood of sex and violence that, without breaking new ground, entertains in the way Gothic flicks do: a combination of cheap thrills and a good old-fashioned crusade against evil. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 1, 2007 Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star You can thank a capable cast led by the estimable Lucy Liu, and work by writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez that succeeds in making the formulaic seem fresh. Rated: 2.5/4 Jun 1, 2007 Full Review Carlos Marañón Cinemanía (Spain) Mediocrity. Apr 18, 2008 Full Review Renee Schonfeld Common Sense Media Torturous vampire bloodbath is a waste for all. Elvs P This is just a fun quick B movie view!!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/09/24 Full Review Richard L Boring vampires without any kind of powers, painfully poor acting, and a script so formulaic and awkward you'd think a teenager wrote it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/01/23 Full Review Cara R The movie suffers from pacing problems but otherwise it was a fun "watch once" flick. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/04/23 Full Review daj b The writer/director started with a nice kernel of a potential franchise combining two winning ideas, vampires + revenge, but the execution was way off often feeling clunky as set-ups and shifts from scene to scene frequently feel like a rough draft. Despite that I enjoyed the result even as the flaws kept drawing my attention. The dialogue sometimes makes some proven excellent actors sound amateurish. Needs a reboot because always room for one more in these genre. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/27/23 Full Review Shondell M It started to suck within the first 2 minutes, and went down hill after that. Un-original, uninspired, and cringy. If you want to abuse yourself, give it a look. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I didn't think it was that bad if one can watch non-traditional vampire movies.
