Steve D A weaker cast with the same melodrama as the remake. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/28/24 Full Review william d It wasn't all that bad, there are just better movies from this period to watch. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review kevin w Mae Clarke gives a walloping performance as a chorus girl/prostitute who happens to meet the man of her dreams one night while on the prowl. As this is a motion picture that deals with morality issues for entertainment bang she struggles with whether to follow her heart or to be true: the crux of the feature's dilemma. But the real star is James Whale behind the camera who imbues this typical story with timely pathos and drama. Good stuff. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review david f A classic romance set in London during the first world war. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Christopher S Just a great tear jerker. They CERTAINLY don't make 'em like this anymore. James Whale plus pre-code material plus wonderful acting. An extremely young actress named Bette Davis, plays the (non-neurotic) younger sister, with nary a twitch nor a mannerism. i thoroughly enjoyed every sniffle it induced, and every catch it caused in my throat. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/11/19 Full Review W. W. W Apparently, this Myra was not in love with Roy. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
