jamie p One of the best Irish movies made. Incredibly quiet and subtle. Yeah it lacks the breadth of Adam and Paul but it's not the same film. I would have liked it to be slightly more ambitious in size but then again that may not have allowed the space for Pat Shortts performance which is a revelation. Any critic that gave a poor review doesn't understand small town Ireland nor small town anywhere. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/24/24 Full Review james b I'd say you could read a book while watching this and not miss anything of note, his first movie Adam and Paul now there's a movie I highly recommend... Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member In Garage, funny man Pat Short really shows what an absolutely brilliant actor he is by breaking so far away from the mould in which his career was built. Although there are some 'amusing' moments, the overall feel to this slow paced flick is extremely tragic, and resonates deeply with those living in isolated Irish towns and to those unable to fit into even the smallest society. Abrahamson goes beyond the notion of typical romanticised country living in Ireland and instead gives the audience a more real, and much darker side to the often unexplored world of a behind-the-times Ireland. Garage offers an accurate, emotional and brutally raw insight into not only rural Ireland but a mind deemed less important mirroring just how important these communities are, and how devastating the effects of ignoring them can be. An absolute must see. Pat Short is phenomenal. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member lo-budget irish fare about male loneliness - the low star rating isnt because it was a bad film per se, just a bit too bleak for my taste. If I can give it **3/4, I would. Oh, it's MY wall, so yes, star rating up by 1/4 then. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A simple story of a simple minded with astonishing performance by Pat Shortt. Neat script, although the ending is not really fitting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Sobre a ignorância, a inocência e a amizade. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
