TheFightCardPodcast I'm a fan of everything, my thoughts on this..... overkill. Not the movie itself but the whole stranded couple , house with hidden story and occupants simply pure Evil. It reminded me of Clue and wrong turn meshed up. Don't get me wrong, I love both those movies, which is why I like this one. Dragged some towards the end, maybe just me but predictable from the begining. I do love that they made this and because of that I will say go watch it. Was a murder myster/ slasher.. kudos and do look forward to others. . 🎙️ -sPidA Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/27/23 Full Review Audience Member You know, I liked it. It was a good Friday night movie. Ate some popcorn, I was entertained for an hour and a half. It wasn't rocket science but Madsen is always fun to watch and I liked the twisty end. I recommend it. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Fascinating story with a surprising end. I liked it very much and Michael Madsen plays 2 parts in this movie? Makes you think about what is reality and what is supernatural reality and if there is a connection/ overlapping of the two. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review robert p Well, at least this Movie is worthy of *1* star. Too bad all of the Actors have to follow this horrible script. They violate ever rule in the book by not staying together, in any good horror movie you never give in to the story! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved the book, loved the movie. Sure it's objectively below average when it comes to filmmaking, but I got everything I wanted out of this film adaption of my favorite novel. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Disappointing remake. Also proof that Micheal Madsen will do ANYTHING. Seriously. Skip this and go find the original. Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle The cluttered, unconvincing dialogue -- not to mention Moseley's ongoing penchant for crazed overacting -- make it more of a genre curiousity than anything the Fangoria gang would likely want to sit through. Rated: 1.5/5 Nov 20, 2008 Full Review Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly The backstories keep piling up, with nods to The Shining, The Ring, and a dozen other gothic supernatural chillers, yet the result doesn't remotely scare you -- rather, it keeps explaining why you should be scared. That's why we're not. Rated: D Nov 12, 2008 Full Review Brian Eggert Deep Focus Review With most bad movies, you can grasp that the filmmaker had a vision but failed. Lost amid ludicrous, ever-changing plot elements, I struggled to see what this movie was trying to achieve. Rated: 0/4 Mar 9, 2024 Full Review Kevin Carr 7M Pictures Overall, the pacing and characters are where House suffers. The film works as a direct-to-DVD horror movie, but it definitely has its rocky moments. Rated: 2/5 Apr 18, 2009 Full Review James Rocchi Common Sense Media Christian-themed horror film too intense for kids. Rated: 1/5 Apr 6, 2009 Full Review Bill Gibron PopMatters Like most movies where belief makes up a good percentage of the narrative rationale and resolution, House has a very hard time with its dogma.
