      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

A nasty, witless and unoriginal entry into the torture porn canon with hopeless acting and a waste of modern 3D technology.

Liam D It has a terrible and bland script, mediocre acting, bad kills and to make it even worst the 3D doesn't work most of the time and it's an eyesore Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/23 Full Review Audience Member kids saw this not happy sent from suck ur mum iphone 2 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Unwatchable low budget cash in on Saw. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member It made me feel sad for Angela Bettis, which I really like, but this film was hopeless in every aspect. But most importantly because when in a movie about gore, the gore doesn't work, then you get nothing. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting concept , bad acting. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Standard horror about a woman who was tortured and saw her friend killed when she was a teenager and now, visiting family in the town where she grew up, has to confront what seems like a copycat killer. Scar, to its credit, does pretty much what you expect; simple story, few jumpy bits, quite a bit of gore(not bad gore either) and horror favourite Angela Bettis puts in a good performance, as do most of the cast to be fair. But Scar doesn't really do anything to lift it above average and the twist ending is pretty crap to. Plus I couldn't see how this would work in 3D aside from a couple of blood splatter scenes. Overall, I though Scars was ok. Not shit, not exactly good, it's just kinda there. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Michael Ordoña Los Angeles Times As one character asks, "It never stops, does it?" Well, no. Not as long as people keep paying to see such dreck. Rated: 1/5 Oct 7, 2010 Full Review Empire Magazine The perspecto-effects are a real letdown, while the pacing and performances are as flat as roadkill. Rated: 2/5 Nov 7, 2008 Full Review Nigel Floyd Time Out To make a 3-D 'torture porn' movie is at best opportunist; to make one with flat, boring torture scenes is unforgivable. Rated: 1/5 Nov 7, 2008 Full Review Ali Gray TheShiznit.co.uk The sole high point? 3D tits. The porn industry is going to love this technology, presuming you don't mind wearing stupid dark glasses while masturbating. Rated: 1/5 Oct 14, 2012 Full Review Scott Weinberg FEARnet I'd read about this one for three years. Then I saw it and forgot it immediately. Rated: 1.5/5 Sep 6, 2011 Full Review Matt Glasby Film4 This nasty, witless and hopelessly dated effort is still a landmark release. Think of it like the first dog shot into space, but don't forget it is an absolute dog. Rated: 1/5 Nov 7, 2008 Full Review Read all reviews
