steve d Unfocused and completely incompetent. The film feels sometimes like it wants to be a comedy and ends up just being offensive. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Manson, My Name is Evil offers a subject whose perspective is worth being brought to the spotlight, but director Reginald Harkema is more interested in exploring the mundane politics and warfare of the 1960s, delivering a disappointingly dull -- and historically inaccurate -- biopic about a fascinating individual. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member Kristen Hager delivers a great mix of "sexy" and "sadism" in her performance as real-life murderer Leslie Van Houten, but her talent can't save Manson, My Name is Evil from its numerous inaccuracies and character omissions that misguide and bore fans of the true story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Excellent and off beat, this film does jump about a little so maybe a touch challenging, it looks mainly at the trial of the Manson gang, and his influence especially on Leslie, one of the followers. unsettling, but then it should be. well filmed, and well acted. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Thankfully this was short because it was just not very good. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member interesting view, showing the events happening at the time and difficulties in self-discovery and finding the right place faced by those growing up in those times Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Rick Groen Globe and Mail Essentially a cinematic essay that occasionally seems smart and sometimes just smart-alecky. What it never seems is emotionally engaging. Rated: 2/5 May 21, 2010 Full Review Peter Howell Toronto Star Harkema's real problem is that he doesn't know which story he wants to tell, apart from taking potshots at governments, religions and ideologies he opposes. Rated: 1.5/4 May 20, 2010 Full Review Shelagh Rowan-Legg That Shelf Complemented by solid performances by the rest of the cast, Harkema creates a campy yet believable society. May 18, 2018 Full Review Monika Bartyzel Collider Leslie, My Name is Evil is Reginald Harkema's next step in socially conscious filmmaking. Apr 10, 2018 Full Review Liz Braun Jam! Movies The performances are suitably bizarre. What it all means is something you can go away and argue about afterward. Rated: 3/5 May 21, 2010 Full Review James Wegg JWR It's been along time since relentless, biting satire found its way to the big screen and skewered its subjects with such impressive skill.
