But the movie played its hand a bit early and there was never much doubt about it's conclusion. See more SICKS6SIX S 08/31/2023 It passed a rainy afternoon, just, Widmark is like Marmite, love it or hate it kind of thing, he always seems to play the outsider and doesn't fit in well, and he doesn't disappoint in that field in this crime filler, not a thriller, it is so predictable Walt Disney could have made it, right from the early hospital scenes and the car crash you know where this film is going, they try to twist and turn it but autopilot won't disengage, Widmark, not at his best comes out with some real humdingers of lines which I won't spoil and tell, he fits in so many cliches and word bombs in this script like most films that do that you start to forget what's actually going on, is this a film or an APB police announcement, sorry but films are meant to be entertainment, if you want to make documentary go make on, both combined are like trying to mix oil and water, they don't mix, ill remember widmark as a dusty cowboy (he was good at playing those) not an OAP alcohlic cop who is transfixed by a man suffering from insomnia, if you cant find anything else to watch and you're sick of black and white films and need some colour in your cheeks this is bareable, just, See more 12/26/2017 Now this is a compelling Thriller, I learned a lot from this movie.
