Positioned as both a slasher movie and a comedy, the movie pretty much fails on both counts. Go to Full Review

A D-grade slasher flick that has delusions of comedy and mystery, of interest only to those who lust after Brad Pitt and would love to check out a performance the actor would probably rather forget. Go to Full Review

thiago s @Thiagostone Aug 18 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Allan C Jul 19 High school slasher flick with young Brad Pitt Cutting Class (1989) ** Forgettable late 80s slasher flick is only of note because it features a young, before-he-was-famous Brad Pitt. Typical California teenager Jill Schoelen, best known from the excellent and underappreciated slasher flick THE STEPFATHER (the original, not the remake), is left on her own while her dad, the oddly cast Martin Mull (FERNWOOD 2 NIGHT, CLUE), leaves on a hunting trip. However, Mull is shot and left for dead in a swamp by a mysterious killer, and at the same time, a disturbed teen, Donovan Leitch (THE BLOB), has been released from an asylum and begins attending Schoelen and Pitt’s high school. When people start getting killed, everyone except for Schoelen is a suspect, even her douchey boyfriend, Pitt! It’s a pretty lame mystery, and outside of the jerk PE teacher’s death scene on a trampoline, which very clearly influenced Eli Roth’s fake horror trailer THANKSGIVING, the movie is pretty indistinguishable from any other bland 80s slasher, with the exception of it featuring a better-than-usual cast. Roddy McDowall also appears in the film as a lecherous principal.  AI CAPSULE REVIEW: Cutting Class is a by-the-numbers ’80s slasher notable only for showcasing a young Brad Pitt and a few odd casting choices. Despite a decent cast and one memorable death scene, it’s mostly forgettable teen horror fare. I'm amazed he got a third. This movie is pure crap. Even good actors in it like Martin mull and Roddy McDowall, are so wooden and one dimensional. There wasn't a believable character in the whole thing. Forget that Brad Pitt ever made this movie... I bet he wishes you would. See more Jordan Y 07/26/2024 Was this made for a school project?
