Almar Haflidason BBC.com Rated: 4/5 Apr 17, 2001 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The plot is irresistible from the first frame onward. Rated: 3/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Terry Francis Southern Voice (Atlanta) D.OA. is so slickly derivative it develops a flash all its own. Even viewers who are finally disappointed by it aren't likely to feel cheated. May 8, 2023 Full Review Jas Keimig The Stranger (Seattle, WA) It's a trashy neo-noir that's clearly having a lot of fun. Jan 20, 2022 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins The fast-paced rock beats in the background continue to goofily contradict the potentially deadly encounters. Ronald F Okay, 2025 has just started and D.O.A. has a Popcornmeter of 30%...that is ridiculous 😃 I`ve seen D.O.A. 1988 at the Filmfest Hamburg for the first time and after that several times again, its in my Top 10 Favorite Movies of all time (next to Annie Hall, Vanishing Point and Jacobs Ladder) and it is simply a brilliant Picture. You can say, its more about visuals as it is about suspense and that's all right, visually the movie is stunning, the cast is great (Quaid, Ryan, Rampling, Stern), I would have thought, Jankel and Morton would be huge after this, but somehow they did not make it... Excellent movie, highly recommended! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Steve D So bad it should have caused the divorce... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Audience Member I see a lot of critics in the reviews but I have to say I really enjoyed this 80s slice of noir. I thought the pacing was good and I could see the motivation of the characters. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member This was decent enough, but nothing that is overly memorable. I found that the performances helped keep the occasionally dry script movie forward. If you like the old school film noir type of films, you might find this worth watching. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member That was actually pretty dope for a clichéd 90s thriller! Cool story, great ending. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member ok remake of the 1949 classic Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
