Kevin Maher Times (UK) It's expertly assembled classic western fodder, and the template for every elegiac "retired killer" movie to come - from Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven to Hugh Jackman in Logan. Rated: 5/5 May 24, 2018 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media Good movie about the consequences of our choices. But the tension of waiting for a foreseen climax is not what it should be -- partly because Gregory Peck arouses no very profound sympathy for the central character. Oct 3, 2023 Full Review Brian Susbielles InSession Film It’s a Western noir, a mix of two genres that came in the 1950s and steered away from the heroic side of cowboys and lawmen. CodyZamboni Z One of Peck's best performances, as an Old West bad ass ,who's grown tired of looking over his shoulder at every punk trying to take him out, He goes to town where everyone knows who he is , Reunites with good friend who's gone legit and seeks chance to have normal life with his ex and his kid, But he’s doomed from the start due to his shootist reputation, Fine supporting cast, i just wish there was more gunfighting action, Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/24/24 Full Review Gerd Magnificent! Truly Magnificent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Aldo G Rarely mentioned when the discussion of best westerns is brought up, The Gunfighter is submitted for your consideration. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Marit Risto F Ultra destructive, and unbelievably silly, macho games. Killed off the majority of the native Americans. And they speak about illigal immigration... Rated 1 out of 5 stars 06/06/24 Full Review Leaburn O A classic Western about the gunslinger who wants to get out the game but made too many enemies and too big a name for himself. If you live by the sword…Peck is convincing and though there is a short runtime, it does justice to the plot in an atmospheric Western town. Really enjoyed the first Western I’ve watched in a little while. Watched it on DVD. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review acsdoug D A decent 50s era Western.
