Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times Rated: 2/4 Jan 1, 2000 Full Review Andrew Sarris Video Review Heaven is a chaotically incoherent viewing experience. Rated: 1/4 Aug 5, 2022 Full Review Betsy Pisik Washington Blade With no plot and even less dramatic substance, the film succeeds, marginally, as a stylish comedy of beliefs. May 24, 2022 Full Review Luke Goodsell ABC News (Australia) The oddball playfulness, combined with Keaton's sense of curiosity and wonder, also reveals a surprisingly touching tribute to humanity and its delusions, however grand or ridiculous they may be. Sep 7, 2020 Full Review Rob Gonsalves Rob's Movie Vault Some of the interviewees are down-to-earth, some loopy, all fascinating. Audience Member This one of my favorite "documentaries," if one can use that term. The film focuses on various people's opinions on the title subject, most of which seem sincere, but your own opinion will color your reaction to the film. Fascinating in the same way as a horrible disaster or scientific discovery. it it always surprising to see what some folks believed (and believe) about the hereafter. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A delightful little mix of comedy, documentary and filmed essay. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A cult-classic . A wonderful view of heaven from those that believe. Dianne Keaton sets up interviews with a sweet, funny, quirky cross section of people. Some you'll recognize, and some average people off the street, you're sure to fall in love with. Vintage clips from black-and-white films, painted title cards, are interwoven to create a playful and interesting discussion of heaven. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member 20 years on and this still gets a laugh for our crew here at Atheist Acres ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member It can be insightful at times, but often the format makes its hopeful subjects look like they're participating in a sideshow exhibit, even when they're simply voicing their views in an honest fashion.
