william k Pretty bad catastrophe movie with very poor special effects and the star cast laid to waste. This poorly conceived film contains amateurish acting from well know actors, shabbily written dialog, and is shamefully divergent from the original novel by Charles Nordoff and James Norman Hall. It is simply awful. One star is overly generous. Jan Troell is normally such a magnificent director. This is one slow moving film. Mia Farrow stinks, the rest of the cast isn?t much better. Visually it is quite beautiful, and technically speaking it is fine, but dramatically it is greatly lacking. She begins an affair with a local native...and wouldn't you know it...but a huge hurricane is headed right for them.
