Wanda Hale New York Daily News The new movie starring the masked rider who has given kids of the country, and some grownup kids, so much pleasure for so long a time... is a pretty good western, better than I expected. Rated: 3/4 Nov 9, 2023 Full Review Bosley Crowther New York Times [The Lone Ranger] has the unwearied spirit of a noisy kid. That is to say, Stuart Heisler, who directed this outdoor jamboree, has kept it moving at the pace of a cattle stampede, with dust flying and bodies bouncing around like kegs. Nov 9, 2023 Full Review William Brogdon Variety [The production uses] the the scenic splendor of Southern Utah to provide beautiful backdrop for the Herb Meadow script. Stuart Heisler's direction is actionful and excellent. Some of the fight sequences he stages are thrillingly rugged. Nov 9, 2023 Full Review Hortense Morton (Screen Scout) San Francisco Examiner Moore and Silverheels are apt in performance. And, it's pleasant to see Bonita Granville back on a cast list... Fast riding, gallantry on the range, and virtue winning over vice, all against a colorful background, make for a tidy package of suspense. Nov 9, 2023 Full Review Harold Whitehead Montreal Gazette The story is as straightforward as its characters and we must say that we thoroughly enjoyed this little trip back into the past. By the way, we also think that the Lone Ranger is a much better hero for the younger set than Davy Crockett. Nov 9, 2023 Full Review Jeanette Eichel Buffalo News Men, women and children were exhilarated by [the Lone Ranger's] energetic bravura and richly rewarded by the unfolding episode’s chills and thrills. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This is with the original TV cast, Clayton Moore as the Ranger and Jay Silverheels as Tonto. Well done, dramatic, action packed, and compelling, it includes villains Lyle Bettger and Robert Wilke. The opening narration leading to the William Tell Overture theme is one of the great movie openings.
