Anton Bitel Little White Lies Next of Kin surfs the low-budget 'Ozploitation' rip curl of the Australian New Wave, and spends its European inheritance on a local almost-ghost story with a strong sense of place. Mar 25, 2019 Full Review Rocco T. Thompson Rue Morgue Magazine Melding elements of gothic ghost story, giallo, and even a few tricks from the Aussie action playbook into a sinuous and compelling whole, Tony Williams’ film is one of the crown jewels of the Ozploitation boom. Jul 3, 2024 Full Review Paul Lê Bloody Disgusting Death lurks around every corner of this Ozploitation classic. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Eve Tushnet Patheos Spooky, lushly-colored, slight and pleasurable. Dec 16, 2022 Full Review Tim Brayton Alternate Ending A simply fantastic horror film. Rated: 4/5 Jun 9, 2020 Full Review Chloe Leeson VultureHound Hugely endearing in its lingering twisted visuals and sharp score, what Next of Kin lacks is a depth of character Rated: 3/5 Mar 24, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Alec B An eerie Gothic mystery from down under. The shift in the finale to more traditional horror shouldn't work and yet it mostly does. The editing work is fantastic. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Craig B Probably one of the most boring horror movies I have ever seen. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/11/23 Full Review Brad P Slow-burn films work when an actual fire is lit but Next of Kin never finds a slow-but-strong foothold to carry itself to the end credits. The final scene is a mild shock that only has impact because little else happens prior. There are pieces of the whole I enjoyed but overall this is mostly a snoozer. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/04/23 Full Review Jared B Next of Kin felt like a lost treasure when I watched in 2022. It breaks The whodunnit slasher structure saving all the grisly surprises til way into act 2/3. Such a fun movie, with excellent acting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review scott s A good psychological horror that falls flat towards the end Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member A slow burn movie with very little action until the final act which is pretty entertaining. Also the villians are poorly developed and really lame. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/19/22 Full Review Read all reviews
