Christopher Lloyd The Film Yap Burt Lancaster (sort of) headlines this Western romance-dramedy whose main dynamic is asking whether or not Katharine Hepburn is pretty. Rated: 3/5 Dec 27, 2022 Full Review Clyde Gilmour Maclean's Magazine Hammy and stagey in spots though it is, this is an enjoyable rural comedy-drama. Oct 11, 2019 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Playing yet another spinster, Katharine Hepburn is too old for the part of the tomboy in Joseph Andrew's film, which suffers from its theatrical sensibility. Rated: C+ Aug 22, 2008 Full Review Steve Crum Video-Reviewmaster.com Drama, love story, and often comedic Lancaster-Hepburn teaming. Rated: 4/5 Apr 23, 2007 Full Review Scott Weinberg DVDTalk.com Pretty entertaining for the most part -- even if you'll be laughing at the movie as much as you are with it. Jared D While stagey in places, this is a fabulous story of a spinster desperate for love and finding all kinds of temptations in a traveling salesman. The cast is outstanding -- and the story ultimately quite inspiring! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/21 Full Review Audience Member It's an enjoyable romp that carries you along. Hepburn and Lancaster are the powerhouses but it's a strong supporting cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review steve d Burt Lancaster makes it work really well. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Movie is older than me, but such a classic. I have watched it many times over the years.Great cast. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review deke p Knew when it came out in 56 it was famous. Never saw a bit of it until tv 2-2017. HOKEY beyond belief. Seem's like a screen adaptation of a play. Hepburn's voice is really grating on me. & Lancaster's con man is way over the top, ridiculous. He wdn't last 10 minutes in this age of social media and google to check his claims out. Much like '76 Trombones' Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member True passion for this 1956 wonder. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
