The movie should not be 2 hours and is not really worth watching that long, but if you love pirates watch this movie to your hearts consent. Jam packed with amazing acting (and actors), the tension never ends, even when you think they finally wrapped it up. I doubt there will ever be a movie based around priates that will top this. See more Reid M Jan 10 After reading the book, I watched the Disney 1950 adaptation and enjoyed it for what it was but as someone who enjoyed the book, too much was changed and cut out that made the story worthwhile. This adaptation however, was unexpectedly everything I was hoping for. Almost page for page from the book with all the small parts I found intriguing included. Young Christian Bale also fits the shoes of my imagined Jim Hawkins very well and Long John Silver was perfect for this style of film. This is definitely the highest bar set for Treasure Island adaptions from what I've seen. Any fan of the literature looking for an accurate, well-put-together movie, look no further.
