In this musical, American millionaire Jervis Pendleton (Fred Astaire) becomes taken with an orphan named Julie (Leslie Caron) while vacationing in France. Another Great Performance by Leslie Caron, but not my kind of a movie with old Fred Astaire as "sugar daddy" he is too good for that kind of storytelling.

This teaming of Fred Astaire and Leslie Caron should have been a cause for celebration; unfortunately, the film is slow-moving and the romance is creepy - the only assets are a score by Johnny Mercer (including the Oscar nominee "Something's Gotta Give") and choreography by Roland Petit.

The song and dance is nothing out of the ordinary for Fred Astaire. The story was kind of creepy though. It was a colorful movie that wasn't bad. I think it is similar in style to An American in Paris, but Daddy Long Legs isn't as good. (First and only viewing - 4/14/2016)
