Started watching "Lullaby of Broadway" and wound up fast forwarding through most of it. A rather run of the mill story, then directed and played in a run of the mill way. Doris Day just doesn't quite have the chops for the role and most of the other cast come off as B players. I would not recommend it.

Lullaby of Broadway is a fantastic film. It is about Melinda Howard who returns home from London to surprise her mother. Doris Day and Gene Nelson give incredible performances. The script is well written. David Butler did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the music and romance. Lullaby of Broadway is a must see.

I have never seen this version of this movie before. They have done a good job with making it into a musical. Good cast, great songs, and fluffy and diverting as you'd expect a musical from this era to have been. I'm enjoying it quite a bit!

Very good movie! I had no idea that Doris Day could dance so well! The man who played the generous kind-hearted millionaire (S.Z. Sakall) was excellent in his role, and I enjoyed the character that Billy De Wolfe portrayed (much nicer than the pompous stuffed shirt in Call Me Madam, although he did that one well, too). And Gene Nelson--what a sight for sore eyes! I can't think of which I enjoyed more--his role in this or as Will Parker in Oklahoma!
