Peter Travers Rolling Stone Rated: 2/4 Mar 6, 2005 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times The movie is finally so ridiculous it cannot be taken seriously as a thriller or anything else, but there are moments that work, and you'll love the look on the hero's face when he discovers the identity of the dead body. Alec B Weirdly compelling for stretches but also, if you've seen any erotic thrillers, you'll have this all figured out five minutes into the runtime. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Audience Member Uh… yea no. Anyone who can't see the twist coming in this "thriller" from the first ten minutes needs glasses. None of the behavior of any of the main characters, including Bob Hoskins' inhaler-huffing Noo Yawk private eye (who inexplicably owns a pet shop) makes any sense at all. And since it's so predictable, it's not even ‘so bad it's good… it's just boring. As Hoskins would say, fugetaboutit. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Joel C This is a straight-up legit thriller/mystery film that does its intended job. Berenger is great as always, playing a car crash victim with amnesia questioning what is truth and what is lies. The start of the film had similarities to a short film I made Who Are You? (2017), except this film is way better. Definitely worth a watch for lovers of the genre. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/21 Full Review darren h A cult classic for me. I like the scenery, suspense, plot and freaky ending. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Terrific plot with an unsuspecting twist at the end! Four stars hands down! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member An easy to like and follow mystery, but the outrageous twist botches a promising set up.
