I remember this movie. I saw it with my girlfriend when it first came out. It was a beautiful film. To us the world was new, love was pure, and every experience unique. We were 18 and 17 at the time and everything in the film rang true. I also recall this movie "inspired us". I'll leave it at that.

An interesting observed study of disaffected youth and nascent counter-cultural values.The film is further enhanced by excellent compositional techniques and a beguiling and suprisingly mature soundtrack courtesy of Elton John. A cautionary tale and gentle ode to the passing of the sixties.
