Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times [A] sweet-natured, high-spirited comedy, that rare movie that plays effectively to all ages. Mar 17, 2020 Full Review Angie Errigo Empire Magazine Cheesy? Certainly. But strong performaces and a heart-warming storyline make this a winner. Rated: 3/5 Mar 16, 2020 Full Review David Anthony AV Club Though it certainly has faults, which only the extremely nostalgic could ignore, the film bests its contemporaries through its ability to unite childlike comedy and adult concerns without ever obscuring one with the other. Mar 16, 2020 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine A brightly optimistic and warmly funny comedy, with solid performances and a no-nonsense visual approach that emphasises story over spectacle. Rated: 7/10 Apr 28, 2020 Full Review People Staff People Magazine ... mildly amusing but overly calculated comedy... Mar 17, 2020 Full Review David Parkinson Radio Times Admittedly, it's a little predictable and patronising at times, but the eager performances of John Candy and his charges carry the day. Steven Y A bonafide classic with tonnes of heart, soul, humour and love. A film that doesn't labour its point (in a way we could learn a lesson or three from nowadays), but handles some mature topics with levity and affection. The chemistry between the cast is wonderful, John Candy (as always) is wonderful and it was heartwarming to share this with our daughter and see her organically root for Derice and the boys. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 09/09/24 Full Review Max W Cool Runnings maintains a light-hearted and lively tone, with smooth and natural performances from the cast. While it lacks some conflict that could elevate the theme, it remains a vibrant film that showcases the Olympic spirit. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/08/24 Full Review Shannon S One of the best sports flicks ever made. With classic one liners "Sanka ya dead? Ja mon!" And heart felt moments of courage and self belief. Also a genuinely laugh out loud movie. Highly recommended 👌 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/06/24 Full Review Felix B Fell the rhythm, feel the ride, come on up, its bobsleigh time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/04/24 Full Review Audience Member Hilarious and great story.
