Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times [A] sweet-natured, high-spirited comedy, that rare movie that plays effectively to all ages. Mar 17, 2020 Full Review Angie Errigo Empire Magazine Cheesy? Certainly. But strong performaces and a heart-warming storyline make this a winner. Rated: 3/5 Mar 16, 2020 Full Review David Anthony AV Club Though it certainly has faults, which only the extremely nostalgic could ignore, the film bests its contemporaries through its ability to unite childlike comedy and adult concerns without ever obscuring one with the other. Mar 16, 2020 Full Review Grant Watson Fiction Machine A brightly optimistic and warmly funny comedy, with solid performances and a no-nonsense visual approach that emphasises story over spectacle. Rated: 7/10 Apr 28, 2020 Full Review People Staff People Magazine ... mildly amusing but overly calculated comedy... Mar 17, 2020 Full Review David Parkinson Radio Times Admittedly, it's a little predictable and patronising at times, but the eager performances of John Candy and his charges carry the day. E o bobsled é F1 do gelo. Nota: 9 Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Blu B A Sports Classic. Didn't expect much going into this and yeah it's nothing ground breaking but it does the basic well and it's filled with likeable characters, heart, humor, charm, and cheers. The direction is pretty basic stuff honestly and won't win any awards. Some team members get more development than others and honestly half of them just blend in. Doug E. Doug is more a comedic relief than a real character. But John Candy is excellent here in a more serious role and hits it out of the park. Overall the acting is really good. The humor is really good, light hearted, and charming fun. The music is excellent and I can't believe it's Zimmer doing this but yeah it makes sense. The Jamacian and cinematic tracks merge effortlessly together. Everything else is really well done. It does bounce around a bit with individual storylines and the setup is a bit clunky and it follows until the end a pretty standard sports movie structure. But the characters are so likeable, it's filled with charm, solid laughs, and you just can't help but root for the Jamacian Bobsled Team! Anyone who is a fan of any actors here, the director, Family movies, comedies, or sports flicks should check this out. Did not expect to like this as much as I did. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 08/08/25 Full Review Harper C.
